Knowledge thrives when shared, and inclusion begins with awareness. On Thursday, March 13, 2025, SUNEL Arena proudly hosted the Conference on Equal Access, a dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue on equal opportunities and accessibility.

Bringing together experts, public figures, and advocates, the event featured inspiring talks, personal stories, and innovative experiences, shedding light on the challenges of accessibility and the steps toward a more inclusive society.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to engage in an augmented reality experience, offering new perspectives on accessibility barriers in daily life. The event featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including:

  • Sophia Zacharaki, Minister of Social Cohesion & Family
  • Konstantinos Kyranakis, Alternae Minister of Transport
  • Dimitris Papanikolaou, former basketball coach and player, raising awareness for autism
  • Antonis Tsapatakis, Paralympic and World Champion Swimmer

Representatives from Google, Nestlé, Toyota, and Accenture also shared insights on corporate accessibility initiatives, highlighting the role of businesses in fostering inclusive environments.

The conference was organized by the Committee on Equal Access of the Athens University of Economics and Business, under the guidance of Dr. Elena Chatzopoulou, Assistant Professor of Marketing at AUEB’s Department of Business Administration.
