From May 9 to May 11, 2025, SUNEL Arena proudly welcomed fans, teams, and international guests for the Basketball Champions League Final Four powered by SUNEL Group – a milestone weekend that marked the arena’s first major international event since its transformation.

Four of Europe’s top basketball clubs – AEK Betsson BC, Galatasaray, Unicaja Malaga, and Lenovo Tenerife – competed on the court, while thousands of fans filled the stands in an atmosphere defined by passion, respect, and unity.

This Final Four was also the first time a company served as the main sponsor of the event  –  with SUNEL Group supporting not only as title sponsor, but also as the driving force behind the arena’s recent renovation and repositioning.

The event marked a powerful moment in SUNEL Arena’s evolution. Over the course of two intense weeks, the venue underwent a comprehensive transformation – from structural and aesthetic upgrades to hospitality enhancements – positioning itself as a new destination for sport, culture, and global experiences.

Throughout the weekend, guests experienced the upgraded premium suites, modernized public areas, and renewed fan engagement zones. The response from fans and partners was overwhelmingly positive, confirming SUNEL Arena’s emerging role as one of Greece’s most dynamic and future-forward indoor arenas.

SUNEL Arena also played host to key off-court moments. During the Basketball Champions League Award Ceremony, guests were introduced to the arena’s broader vision for sustainability and year-round engagement. At the official dinner held at the Acropolis Museum restaurant, international representatives from the world of sport, business, and infrastructure joined in a shared conversation about innovation and collaboration.
