On Saturday, October 12, 2024, SUNEL Arena’s Faidon Konstantoudakis Hall proudly hosted an impactful Educational Seminar organized by the Hellenic Wushu Kung Fu Federation in collaboration with AEK Betsson BC. Held under the auspices of the University of the Peloponnese, the event brought together approximately 50 participants, including coaches, athletes, referees, parents, and fans, to address critical challenges in sports today.
The seminar focused on three essential themes:
1. Combatting Match-Fixing: Insights from the National Platform for Sports Integrity.
2. Addressing Abuse and Harassment in Sports: Strategies to tackle hate speech and promote safe environments.
3. Fighting Doping in Sports: Presented by the National Anti-Doping Organization.
The seminar featured insights from distinguished experts, including:
• Vasileios Keramaris, Legal Advisor to the General Secretary of the Hellenic General Secretariat of Sports.
• Dr. Grigoris Leon, Governor of the National Anti-Doping Organisation.
• Anastasia Goufa, Head of Professional Events Division, General Secretariat of Sports.
• Dimitris Braoudakis, Education Officer, National Anti-Doping Organisation.
• Spyridoula Christopoulou, Scientific Support and Quality Office, National Anti-Doping Organisation.
This seminar was part of the broader program, “Governance of Sports Federations,” initiated by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports. Running from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, it delivered actionable strategies for fostering integrity, accountability, and safety in sports.
The event was also available virtually, receiving widespread praise for its engaging presentations and strong commitment to tackling critical issues such as abuse, doping, and match-fixing.
